   A. cristatus is recognized by its' succulent green leaves, with wavy leaf margins at the tip, placed upon short, branching stems, covered with red hairlike aerial roots.  This Cape Province, South Africa native takes easily from leaf cuttings.  It tolerates some drought, but it needs shade, and does not tolerate frost.
