This Canary Islands native has short stems, large offsetting rosettes, a two foot tall pale green inflorescence, and bright green, somewhat waxy leaves, with white hairs along the margin.  Preferring part to full sun, it can withstand temperatures below freezing for short periods, but may not take the summer heat of the southwest deserts in full sun.

(Sempervivum Haworthii)
Haworths' Aeonium -
very low water requirement part shade exposure

This small succulent shrub has small rosettes with thick bluish green leaves, and grows to nearly 1' tall.  It is a winter grower, so that is when it needs more water and sunlight.  In summer it would prefer more shade and deep, but more infrequent water.
