   With over 30 South African native species, Trichodiadema is a genus of subshrubs, with long stems and thick roots.

   T. barbatum recognized by its long prostrate stems with bumpy succulent 1" long cylindrical leaves with tiny bristles at the ends.  Daisy like magenta flowers with yellow centers emerge in spring.  This napiform (turnip shaped root) is native to Cape Province, South Africa.

   This up to 12 inch tall native South African caudiciform has tiny succulent green leaves arranged in opposing pairs along its' thin stems.  T. bulbosum prefers part shade and adequate water while growing.  Propagation is done from seed.
