Crassulaceae Tylecodon Toelken
 Bothalia 12(3): 378 (1978).
   The over 40 species in this native African genus include geophytes, caudiciforms, and pachyforms.  Formely under the genus Cotyledon, Tylecodon differ in their flowers and deciduous leaves.  Some species are highly poisonious.

   This tiny South African native pachyform has small oval succulent green to yellowish green leaves with red speckles.  It has interesting densely packed miniature twisted succulent branches with silvery tan bark
In summer, it may have upright pink or lavender blooms, and grows vegetatively in the winter.  Because of its tiny compact size, it makes for an excellent bonsai presentation.  Propagation is done from cuttings and seed.
